“I Was Dreaming” Lyrics and Music by Chet Nichols Copyright 2012 by Chet Nichols (ASCAP) & Magic Garage Music (ASCAP) ALL RIGHTS RESERVED http://www.chetnicholsmusic.com :: chet@chetnichols.net Verse 1. I close my eyes and I see nothing I open them wide and it’s still the same I hoped to see a glimpse of you running And you were heading my way Chorus I know a heart that’s broken in two Won’t believe that love can be true But, my heart’s an open door I see you reach and turn the key And step back into me And suddenly I feel complete But, I know I was dreaming I was only dreaming I was dreaming I was only dreaming Verse 2. Out in the mist I can see a shadow Your lips appear and brush against my cheek Whispering my dreams can all come true If I find the path leading back to you Chorus I know a heart that’s broken in two Won’t believe that love can be true But, my heart’s an open door I see you reach and turn the key And step back into me And suddenly I feel complete But, I know I was dreaming I was only dreaming I was dreaming I was only dreaming

“The Night Train” Lyrics and Music by Chet Nichols http://www.chetnicholsmusic.com Copyright 2014/2020 by Chet Nichols (ASCAP) & Magic Garage Music (ASCAP) All Rights Reserved VERSE 1. Rainy night hugs the station The taxis run and hide Subway rhymes wander downward And beckon me to ride Weaving my way back home On the night train On another homeward run On the night train Chorus Slipping from stations Through the swirling steam The sounds and the motions Set my mind to dreaming Of gliding through the mountains And across the moonlite plains Coming home to you Coming home to you VERSE 2. Touching down and shooting sparks We're rolling through the dark Whispered words and lost connections They haunt the weary hearts Weaving their way back home On the night train On another homeward run On the night train Repeat Chorus Bridge Lovers smile Their whispers pass me bye Sometime I'd like to learn The secrets of these aisles Of the love the has grown And the love that has gone home alone On the night train On the night train Repeat Chorus

“The Needle In His Arm” Lyrics and Music by Chet Nichols Copyright 2014 by Chet Nichols/Magic Garage Music (ASCAP) http://www.chetnicholsmusic.com :: http://www.chetnichols.net chet@chetnichols.net ALL RIGHTS RESERVED VERSE 1 He went from earned abundance to the depths of total waste Pushed away all he had worked for, just to have a little taste Perhaps he never planned how he would celebrate success So when that day arrived, he chose to feed his joy distress Why was he thinking, he wasn’t doing any harm? While his soul was crying, crying, crying from the needle I his arm VERSE 1 Now, all of the accolades and all the awards From the movers and the shakers, now only sound like empty chords And all of the flicker shows will be playing back his past But, all we’ll see is an empty space at the a reunion of the cast Why was he thinking, he wasn’t doing any harm? Till he woke up dreaming, dreaming, dreaming with a needle in his arm BRIDGE Now, what about the children that this evil leaves behind As it steals away the most precious gift, the choice to give our time Push back all these demons who lust to steal our precious love Poisoning sweet futures with the back-side of a glove VERSE 1 Friends and family they gather to cry and shake their heads As they pay their last respects to him reclining on his final bed Then they drift in single file out to a field that’s filled with stones Touch his box with one last wish then turn away and he’s finally alone Why was he thinking, he wasn’t doing any harm Till he woke up dying, dying, dying with a needle in his arm Why was he thinking, he wasn’t doing any harm? Till he woke up dreaming, dreaming, dreaming with a needle in his arm

Maybe we were hypnotized Under an ancient spell But, my heart and soul remembers The very moment we both fell I sit among the photographs Scattered all around the room Black and white and colors Turning blue, turning blue 2. There’s a gallery of memories That is filled with lover’s art I wander thru it daily What we painted with our hearts Hand in hand in Paris And on the beaches of Cancun So, how did these memories Turn to blue, turn to blue Bridge I sit before a canvas A world of colors I can choose I lift my brush and close my eyes To catch a glimpse of you 3. And mix the ocean in the tropics With a cold December sky On the brush I use for memories Of the love we left behind We were just too much like M aybe too good to be true Still, I wish I could wash away all the blue All the blue, all the blue

'The Apocalypse" Music & Lyrics by Chet Nichols Copyright 2012 by Chet Nichols (ASCAP) & Magic Garage Music (ASCAP) http://www.chetnicholsmusic.com :: chet@chetnichols.net ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 1. Bombed out buildings and bombed out souls The last crescendo of our lose of control The highways are empty but they're filled with danger We tried to fool the 7 deadly sins Then came the mushroom cloud and its penetrating poison We were unbendable And way too proud Until we heard a voice That cut right through the clouds, saying .... CHORUS Welcome to the abyss Say goodbye to all the bliss Here's a little kiss on the lips From the Apocalypse 2. The silos are empty and they're covered in dust The deafening residue of our blessings gone bust We flushed our futures when we shunned our faith Endless chatter reaching up to the sky Be God's not taking any calls because the grid is fried A mist of tears Oh, it hovers all around Dampening the silence Till the lightening strikes the ground, saying........ CHORUS BRIDGE Where are all the dreams? Where are all the second chances? Bring back all the machines And turn on all the pretty dancers, pretty dancers CHORUS

Bernadelle 04:12
"Bernadelle" Lyrics and Music by Chet Nichols Copyright 2012 by Chet Nichols (ASCAP)& Magic Garage Music (ASCAP) http://www.chetnicholsmusic.com * chet@chetnichols.net ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Dedicated to my first music teacher, Sister Bernadelle Mehmert (June 27, 1922 - April 11, 2014) 1. He sailed a silver steamer across the sea Then caught a train to Paris to photographing memories Painted scenes on sidewalks melting in the rain Led to ships along the shoreline drifting on the Seine And she was there The vision from a dream Singing 'neath her parasol Aboard her ship of dreams To her the river was an endless wishing well That's where he met Bernadelle CHORUS: Bernadelle was a muse And her music was the magic that she used She spent each moment painting songs Mixing words and melodies as they 'd drift along 2. A world of instruments filled her salon Tools for their inspiration, they would play from dusk till dawn They spent that summer sailing thru the motherlands Writing songs and painting stories acting like good friends But, they were more Than actors in a scene Surrounded by the sights and sounds Aboard her ship of dreams That's when her river became his wishing well And he fell in love with Bernadelle CHORUS Bernadelle was his muse And her music was the magic that she used To weave a warm, enchanting spell Till he let go and finally fell into her wishing well Their love's a story they still tell Of blending words and melodies as they sailed upon their wishing well Bernadelle
