This is an AMAZING track! It was recorded "live" at Wally Heider's studio in San Francisco. Chet and Zakir had met in the studio and Chet said, "Here, let me play it for you"..... 16 bars into the song, Zakir suggested that they just record it. Chet mentioned that he wanted Zakir to feel free to improvise as the song kept building. Amazingly, this is the one and ONLY take of this song..... very cool.

Children come from behind the rocks
Music, come from behind the wind
The wind holds up the kites in the county
So, won’t ‘cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down

Tom’s kite is the highest above
Bob’s kite bears the symbol of love
Cathy’s kite is the most free in the sky
So, won’t ‘cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down

I’ve been informed that the baker is dead
And that the banker has gone and lost his head
I think it’s clear that we should rule instead
So, won’t ‘cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down

We’ve been here twenty minutes
Seems like a day
I’m alone on a string
Depending upon the wind
I’m relaxed but I feel I’m moving very slow
Am I? I don’t know
Am I? I don’t know
Am I? I don’t know

Now, come down, you can fly my kite
I built it in six hours last night
So that this wind could guide its virgin flight
So, won’t ‘cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down

There’s a blue one with a long tail
Alone, on a string, depending upon the wind
Climbing, falling, dancing and laughing
So, won’t ‘cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down
